JUST FOR THEM.
Orone is a young brilliant lady, highly friendly and free spirited and would do anything for her altruistic attitudes to be reciprocated. Orone, as her class representative, would cover up for her classmates just to satisfy her and get her love attached to their hearts. Many a time, she 'stabs' classes to attend to queries on behalf of their lecturers, Orone would always stand up for her classmates and the height of it was when she missed a continuous assessment just to ensure her coursemate gets her labcoat, the lecturer in charge of the course, Professor Lambe is a stern-looking man who can make an adult mess his body, of course, he rejected her plea and chased her out of the lecture theatre and wouldn't allow her write a 'back up' test. It was a great loss because it is one of our core courses. As a bright, well mannered girl, any lecturer could have plead on her behalf but they were rendered handicapped as her case was a consistent one.
Orone, in the end, couldn't meet up with the course cutoff at the end of the session, hence, she was asked to re-offer the course in the preceding level.
[I'M SURE YOU'RE YEARNING TO READ THE CONCLUDING PART OF THE STORY..BUT , NAY, THE KEY POINT HAS BEEN DECRYPTED FROM THE CONTENT ABOVE]
Well, I would advise you shouldn't be like Orone!
I know the pertinent questions in your mind right now; Is being caring bad? Taking others' responsibilities as mine isn't a problem, is it? As long as I make people happy, I would equally be happy, isn't it? Trust me, I'd justly solve the puzzle in your mind through the analyses below.
Rendering assistance within our capability is not and wouldn't be friends out, of course, one of the greatest principles of humanity is the act of assisting; help people grow and glow, be warm to people, spread your arms to accept people into your life, assist people through the hurdles of life, BUT, when it become a deterrent to your progress, have a RETHINK! Normally, helping others shouldn't affect our lives but there are situations where we need to put ourselves first, this might sound selfish but trust me, it is self-evaluation and not greediness.
This remind me of my ordeal around mid August, this year; I got stuck trying to balance between my writings and concentrating on my training; I didn't want grind my writing to a halt, nor do I want to terminate my training, hence, the question of what to do emerged. Enraged with the fear of losing myself in the process, I swiftly discerned that while the training is ephemeral, the writing would last forever, so, utilizing my time of the training would be the best but then, I don't want to totally stay off blogging, hence, I modified my publishing duration from weekly to once or twice in a month with the hope that after my training, everything would return to normalcy.
Fortunately, after about two months, I was able to come to term with my tutor who granted me the permission to write weekly.
If I were to be a 'PEOPLE-PLEASER', I would and in the end , lose both their dreams and that if their parents. How unfortunate is it that parents fail to realize the importance of passion.
Having full control of our being; our thoughts, our words, our actions, is important. In the verge of trying to please others, you might end up losing yourself which might lead to eternal Dejection.
DO YOUR THINGS AS LONG AS IT ISN'T DETRIMENTAL TO ANYONE!
Love you, Love all.
